DR. DAVID ROBSON APPOINTED AS MEMBER ON BANK’S SUPERVISORY BOARD

 

Dushanbe, Tajikistan, November 12, 2014.  The Board of Orienbank OJSC (the “Bank”)  proposed to nominate Dr David Robson as a full member on the Supervisory Board of the Bank.  This proposal was accepted by Supervisory Board of Orienbank and was unanimously approved at an extraordinary general shareholders meeting of the company.

 

The Chairman of Supervisory Board of Orienbank stated, “We are very pleased that Dr. Robson has accepted our offer to join the Supervisory board of the Bank as an independent member.  We value his long experience in business and his knowledge of working with multilateral financing bodies and in the international capital markets.  We also appreciate his significant contribution to the development of the energy sector in the Republic of Tajikistan.  We are sure that his broad international knowledge will help the Bank progress its expansion and growth plans and assist in attraction of investments into the economy of Tajikistan.”

 

Dr. David Robson commented, “I am extremely honored to be asked to join the Supervisory board of Orienbank.  The important role that the Bank plays in Tajikistan and increasingly further afield is very impressive, founded on its history as one of the fundamental pillars of the Tajik economy.  I will work my hardest to help the Bank to build on its success and become a global player focused on Tajikistan and Central Asia.”

 

Dr. David Robson has over 30 years experience in the oil and gas industry, most of that time in the states of the former Soviet Union and surrounding areas.  He has a broad experience of developing businesses in the region having established and managed three publically listed companies during that period and negotiated facilities with multinational financial agencies and other finance providers and institutions.  He is a frequent commentator on the region and on energy issues in particular and has been a member of several governmental bodies involved with trade and business issues.  He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree, a Ph.D and an MBA.
